Dear players!
It is roughly one year since we introduced the gproxy and the inbuilt antihack system. We have banned more than 20.000 accounts since then but the design had some flaws and hackers found the way to bypass our protection rather soon. Another reason why it was not as successfull as we would want is that playdota.eu (now lagabuse) did not want to implement the system.
Things have now changed.
Today we are releasing new server installer with new gproxy which should solve all hacker problems, at least for the short period.
News and features, installer 1.26a version 3:
-added tier5x-nightelf and tier6x-human icons to fix the PG profile bug
-changed the design of installer, now icons have a seperate screen so it's less possible to make an error and skip it
-added gproxy 1.7.3
Gproxy 1.7.3 news:
-some new sounds and replaced some old annoying sounds
-new antihack system
-auto !sc when joining a game
New GProxy will be enforced in 3 days on the following leagues: lagabuse, ss, br, edbrl, ro, czsk, tr. If you won't have it you won't be able to join any games.
If we find an exploit or a bypass for the current system we might release a fixed version soon after. If not, the next installment will come with our own client and updates will become automatic. We hope to release our own client with gproxy integration by the end of this year.
Hack rules update:
-any external programs that give you an advantage in game which you normally wouldn't have, even manabars, is prohibited. Warkeys or similar is an exception.
-anyone caught 2 times with maphack will get his whole computer locked and won't be able to play on any protected league anymore.
Troubleshooting installer and GProxy
1. Make sure you have [URL="http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17851"].NET Framework[/URL] and [URL="http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29"]Visual C++ Redistributable[/URL] installed before you run the installer/gproxy
2. Make sure your antivirus or firewall is not blocking installer/gproxy.
3. GProxy reports registry error and shuts down: download w3fixer and fix your w3 registry (file in attachement)
4. W3 shuts down after login: check gproxy.log in your W3 directory or go to desktop after hitting login button and see what gproxy says before crash.

Some more general facts for new users:
-in order to play PG or host a custom game manually, you have to connect to server the normal way. Do not start gproxy and select Eurobattle.net gateway instead of Gproxy gateway.
-if you are using gproxy and lose your internet connection for a short period of time do not panic. Simply wait for your connection to come back and gproxy will reconnect you to the game. DO not click disconnect or close w3.
-when joining hostbots which require spoofcheck gproxy will automatically spoofcheck for you. In any case you can use !sc command to do it manually.
