Hey people, i need help in ubuntu.

I have my laptop, 1 HDD devided by 2.

-Vista (for war3)
-Ubuntu (personal use)

Now the tihng is, i have another screen thats apart. Makes 2 screens --> Laptop and an LCD one.

On vista i can make double screen (extended).

How can i make it on ubuntu ? I wanna make it like in vista ? I cant find out how.

I dont have a second screen so I dont know the direct solution but if Google fails ask on ubuntuforums.org!

Depending on your graphic card. Nvidia got a nice tool called nvidia-settings, just start and look through it. I don't really know how to do it with ati (never had such a card), but I assume ubuntu got some autoconfig.... just check system => [something that has something to do with monitors, like resolution]

I did see such properties, but it doesnt detect it.. But it does detect it on vista. Any ideas people? Before i ask on ubuntu forums..

Never try to compare Linux with Windows concerning hardware. They work totally different :P
And yes, ask in the ubuntu forums. POLITE.

Do you use Kubuntu or Xubuntu and what distro? 8 I think if you have the latest.
If you use any card besides Matrox or Sis you can use:
(and xubuntu 8 (hardy))
Alt + F2 (run)
gksudo displayconfig -gtk
this will open a better display configuration gui

Select your screens and check your card.
If this doesnt help you or the screen doesnt appear your xubuntu already had the most updates whitch will corupt the display config.
In this case search the ubuntu forums for the Xorg.conf file and how you have to alter the file.

Sis gives no support for linux.
Matrox depends on the card.

Hello, As far as i understand you want to set up a double-screen system on Ubuntu, well Ubuntu supports Multiple screens, now i'll give you few links to guides how to configure that step by step unless you want something else, you'll have to explain it more specifically.

hi i'm running ubuntu 9.04 and i want to run wc3 on it, actually it work using wine it's just that i can't execute the eurobattle.reg file , i'm almost sure its to be done with terminal i just don't see how , can u guys help me with this and thx.

hmm well i don't actualy remember how i did it but i think i used winetricks...
other than that i dont think you need to actualy run reg, just try without and see what happens
