I am planning to buy a Macbook. Only question is if I will get the original version or Pro. Air looks crappy and I think I like the original look more.

Don't get the Air. It's only a designer thingy without any real use... No ethernet port, only one USB.
"Well, they say to enter 'passwd username'"
    "You did it?"
"Yes, it shows me the error: user username not found"

Why would I use an ordinary PC to run MAC OS?
I have a perfectly powerful desktop, and a pretty old winXp laptop.
I'm looking for a MacBook that I can carry around, surf the net, listen to music, do office work, and just enjoy the MAC feel.

well just cause i don't like macs that doesn't mean most people should
and I remember now i knew a guy that used macs even for web developpement and application developpement and since it is basically a unix system it is definatelly better than windows
    So I guess why not
As for the machine well it has pretty damn good hardware and the os is very optimised for it using SSE3 wereas windows witch is made to run on a wider variety of hw doesn't have that many optimisations only SSE and MMX ?
anyway good luck with your new mac
PS: AS they say: It's a question of taste there is no argument in that

If you could do without the latter, you could get away with WAY less money and get a netbook (with linux - no microsoft tax, more money for you). You don't need a fancy MacBook for something like that

I don't think you understand. I do need a fancy MacBook. All my PC games, video editing, and coding is done on my home desktop.

A macBook would be perfect for carrying around my university campus, checking the news in the morning on the breakfast table, doing emails anytime...etc. If you still haven't got it, you probably never will.

That's why I don't understand why you need to get a MacBook. Well, I also don't understand why people get an SUV... Actually, you can play PC games on mac (with wine), there are people who buy macs only for the video editing software and XCode is a REALLY good IDE - I use vim anyway, so I wouldn't care about that one.

Does a MacBook have SSD an harddrive? hm... that might interfere with listening to music. SSD are fun, damn fast and pretty solid (you just shouldn't use any swap).

a netbook can give you everythingthing your mac can give
at a cheaper price and even better hardware
But of course you don't get the shinny apple logo with apples reputation and the touchpad has 2 buttons! Witch is too complicated for mac users you only need 1 !
Seriously there is no point in convincing anyone anything
people (including me of course how else?) always (actually most (almost all) of the times is more exact) will believe what they are right and it is logical isn't it? and will also refuse to believe and even acknowledge anything else simply because YOU are right KeweLi a mac is worth buying and spending all your money upon cause it will give you everything you need a no other PC alternative even comes close, all thoose linux distros with their ****ty UI and that cheap pc hardware are just inferior to Macs, and of course you can keep your nose high at thoose foolish EEEPC users and sight in pride!
    You own a Mac

    Because they can afford one.

I don't play games on a laptop and definitely I won't be using wine.

Sony Vegas Pro on my desktop computer is sufficient and works well.

I don't plan on putting a whole load of music on it. Just my favourites.
My ipod already holds all my music and it has only filled up 60/160gb.

We're just trying to give you a hint for something that will fit your needs better
    Because they can afford one.
Well, looks like the same problem here. If you think you just buy a Mac because you can afford it, go on. It's just a waste of money in your case.
I don't play games on a laptop and definitely I won't be using wine.
I was just mentioning a possibility.

    See above.

SSD don't have that much above 50GB... They're expensive, but worth the money, just no fit for storing lots of data. There may be newer models with more SSD, I'm not that up-to-date concerning hardware.
