Could not find the map file - map error

Since updating to 1.28.5.xxxx patch I can no longer play any map. A constant error keeps popping up any time I try to join a game on eurobattle.net (it tries to download the map even if I already have it in my Documents/W3/Maps folder),
or create a game in LAN - could not find the map file. I can open and play any map in Single Player though.

I've tried reinstalling the game several times in different folders ("C:\Program Files (x86)" , "C:\Program Files" , "C:\ " , "D:\anywhere"), even though I have Administrator privileges in all folders; I also always "run as admin" any program I run;
I've even uninstalled C++ 2017 Redistributable x86 (even though it's is a binary-compatible in-place upgrade of the C++ 2015 one) to install the C++ 2015 Redistributable x86 just in case;
Followed the Wiki step by step, even downloaded RoC+TFT through Warcraft III Setup just in case as well...

I really have no idea what else to try. Maybe try and make a string or change some value(s) in "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\Map" ?
No clue whatsoever.

I have also tested if other programs can save in any of Documents directory, and the likes of uTorrent and qBittorrent can (anywhere from "C:\Users\Jovan-PC\Downloads" to "C:\Users\Jovan-PC\Documents" to "C:\Users\Jovan-PC\Documents\Warcraft III".

Starting the client once more, an auto-update has encountered this error.

Try to start w3 normally first, so it does the migration. That should solve the problem with not being able to add the dota map

It's not about the dota map, I couldn't care less about the dota map, not a single map works. The problem is that the client can't save and obviously (forgot to add that when starting w3 normally, LAN works - it can read the maps) can't read them either...

If this could potentially solve the problem I will try that. It does make sense.
Honestly I didn't play W3 in a long time and I didn't know whether migrating to Documents folder was Blizzards doing or ebnet clients' ... The idea never occurred to me.

Aaaaand it's not, because upon W3 installation CD-keys are required and as soon as you type them and confirm, the game autostarts along with the migration.

You mean that the migration starts over each time? You could try to migrate them manually, check here how: http://wiki.eurobattle.net/index.php?title=How_to_migrate_files

No. The migration is successful the first and only time, it doesn't happen irregularly. I just said it happens even before touching the ebnet installer.

The client error does give a hint that it could not move the map. Does

C:/Users/Jovan-PC/Documents/Warcraft III/Maps/Download
exist? is it writable?

Btw, you can tag me on discord tomorrow, I can take a look.

It doesn't anymore because it's a fresh install. I'm not sure whether the Maps/Download folder would write themselves upon downloading something, because I can't finish downloading anything?

This is how it looks now, after fresh install.

Made a map, got the Maps folder, same outcome. Works in plain W3, doesn't work through the client W3.

The problem has finally been solved.
The issue that was causing the pathing problem was "Controlled folder access" , a new Windows 10 protection against ransomware due to recent events last year.
Just turn Controlled folder access off.

Go to Windows Defender Security Center > Virus & Threat Protection > Virus & Threat Protection Settings > Controlled folder access OFF.
