1. Warcraft was unable to initialize. Error 3
Reason for this error is unknown, but is known to be solved by reinstalling the game/repair install with setup utility or dropping the 1.28.5 archive into your W3 folder.
2. Unable to validate game version even though game is at 1.28.5
-delete war3.exe if it exist in w3 folder (that is the old binary, no longer used)
-your path to W3 contains non-ASCII characters. Try to move W3 to another folder that contains ASCII names only, then change w3 path in client to the new one.
-do a game reinstall or repair using Warcraft III Setup. At least one person fixed the problem with this.
-download and extract a full 1.28.5 archive into your w3 folder (see wiki on the top). We managed to reproduce the problem with a completely clean install with w3 setup utility. Still investigating why this happens with a clean install and solution is in the works.
I managed to replicate the problem by doing a clean install via w3 setup. Still investigating.
3. Unable to connect when using gproxy gateway
Either a firewall problem or gproxy exits after W3 already starts. Turn on debug for gproxy and provide full log in technical support.
One possible problem is that your path to W3 contains non-ASCII characters. Try to move W3 to another folder that contains ASCII names only, then change w3 path in client t the enw one.
4. Game does not start
Gproxy waits for 20 seconds, then quits because the game does not start. The reason is usually missing w3l.exe, probably deleted by antivirus.
5. Green icons
Delete war3mod.mpq in w3 folder, re-run the installer
6. Activation page does not work
This is just a temporary problem and has nothingto do with 1.28.5. Post your account here http://eurobattle.net/threads/198758-About-activation-problems! and it will be activated manually.
