using the blizzard official launcher, meaning clean download + patch + loader v9, and the CDkeys provided by EB.net = problem solved here

That doesnt make much sense to me, normal or gproxy gateway should not affect this in any way. Find me on discord if possible, I'd like to take a look.

Analysing the problem, I found the cause and one solution.
First, let's me explain the cenario before I updated to 1.28.5.7860:
- Version 1.28.2
- InstallerV8
- All works fine...
Then for updating to 1.28.5, I has follow those steps:
1) Uninstalled Eurobattle v8;
2) Downloaded and updated Warcraft with Warcraft III Launcher.exe
3) Tested W3 (starting fine);
4) Installed Eurobattle v9;
5) Client works fine (no update needed), but can't recognize the new version in "Gproxy Mode" (unable to validade game versions);
Next, I used WC3VersionSwitcher003beta2 to see the files version. And the switcher reports that file War3Patch.mpq has "unknow".
I run Warcraft III Launcher.exe another time, but this results in "no update needed".
Then I uninstalled Eurobattle v9 and dowloaded another Blizzard oficial tool, the Warcraft-III-Setup.exe (see link):

In this tool I selected "Repair". After the repair process (very fast, because most of the files are Ok, I think), I reinstalled Eurobattle v9 and done! Gproxy Mode worked fine.
If more people reports problems with "unable to validate game version", I sugest update the update tutorial and replace Warcraft III Launcher.exe with Warcraft-III-Setup.exe, and use the "Repair" option.
Now version switcher reports all files are Ok.

Interesting. Thanks for investigation. I guess it would also work if you uninstalled w3 and reinstalled.
