[IRRELAVANT] 1.28.2 known problems and solutions

1. When w3 starts and asks you to migrate files it fails with "not enough storage is available to process this command"
-you probably have a lot of maps and replays (1GB+). Cut and paste them somewhere else, let W3 migrate the emptied folders, then after migrate is successful paste them in appropriate folders in Documents/Warcraft III.

2. While W3 migration is happening it tells you that another process is using some file that needs to be migrated
-migrate Maps, Replays, Campaigns, AI Scripts, Erros, Logs, ScreenShots, Scripts manually, then rerun the migration

3. Can't get max resolution in video settings
-untick the Fixed Ratio option

4. Unable to validate game version
Your windows username contains a non ascii symbol. The solution so far is to rename your windows user if you are brave enough, the safer option is to create a new windows user account.

5. Icons in chat channels are green

6. Colors are dark, alttab does not mute sound
-run w3 with Native fullscreen checked

7. Can't run gproxy, file does not exist
-your antivirus probably deleted gproxy.exe, especially Avast likes to do it. Whitelist gproxy.exe and w3l.exe

8. No "Fixed aspect ratio" chckbox in video settings, can't set 16:9 resolution! Set fixed ratio to 0 in regedit manually (see attachement image)

That migration thing is not working for me. All files are present at Documents\Warcraft III folder but when i start the game it still tries to migrate something and then when the bar comes to 99% it says migration failed and game will try it at next start. I also checked game folder and there is nothing to migrate.

Also tried emptying the folder under Documents and let game to try to migrate and it also failed. Everything working fine but that migration pops at everytime i start the game and its kinda annoying. Just writing here if there is a solution to this so other ppl can see also, otherwise i can live with migrating around.

Inside the XPAM client, Click on the Gproxy Tab > then you see "Change W3 path" button > click on it and choose the Warcraft 3 folder, for some reason, after the Beta Update, it redirects to the Eurobattle.net folder.

It does not say anything like it failed because of this or that. Just failed

Try running the program as administrator, if it doesn't help, go the folder option and check if its on Readonly mode > if so, remove the read-only.
Otherwise, check if your antivirus has an option to "protect from files to make changes" (like HIPS of ESET Smart Security) if so, you will need to change it so Warcraft 3 can make changes.

the first thing to understands its on what part of the update you start to encounter this kind of error?
This is like Warcraft 3 screen of death, means that Warcraft encounters a critical error and most be close, I would suggest just to reinstall Warcraft 3, do a full reinstallation including the migration and then install Eurobattle client.

Is your game licensed? If not its normal behaviour if you start it with the main .exe and not with gproxy

If you have run the installer it should not ask you for a cd key because installer adds them. Check if yu have *.w3k files in your w3 dir.

Hey, so I did everything as you wrote, but I still have problems with data migration. It still says that some files are in use, and then I click ignore, battle net wont start.
Help!!
