I was feeling quite confident that Bayern would lift the trophy before Saturday's German Cup final. But having witnessed how appalling Bayern were defensively (they got stuffed 5-2), the value is all with Chelsea who have a fair chance of the upset on German soil. Neuer was all over the place in the Bayern goal, and the Germans will be missing three first time regulars at the back who are suspended for Saturday's final. It's hard to imagine those chosen will enjoy themselves any more than the Barcelona players did against Didier Drogba.
Chelsea obviously have key players suspended too. But Terry has looked a liability at teams this season, and you wouldn't describe Ivanovic as the best defensive fullback in the Premier League either. Sure life will be difficult for the Londoners against some very potent attacking players in the Bayern XI, but they certainly have nothing to fear having seen off the best in the world in the last round against all odds ( with 10 men ).
