Describe how you launch programs. YOu must first:
1. Run gproxy
2. Select gproxy gateway
Or just
1. Join on normal gateway

You musr run gproxy first, wait for it to set up and then open w3. If you're too fast GProxy will autoclose itself.

Hint for those with NOD32 or maybe some other antivirus programs:
After installing, you run the game and try to connect via Eurobattle.net Gproxy gateway, but it's unable to connect. Above gateway works well. You press Ctrl-Shift-Esc and realise gproxy.exe is NOT running.
Procedure: open NOD32 settings, disable Antistealth shield and uncheck about potentially unwanted apps option.
This happens due to the fact that on automatic setup, Gproxy runs on background as you load W3, thus it can look like a hidden run to the program.
