Hello! Maybe the most of you already know that GosuGamers have their own ranking of the top teams around the world, but mostly of the European teams. But for those of you that don't know this it's time to check it out !
These rankings are based on both online and LAN tournaments that take place. Ofc not all the tournaments are taken in consideration, but the most important LAN events and online tournaments are covered.
How does this work? Well each team that plays is such tournaments are added on their database. So by each game a team can gain or lose points. Ofc if a team wins then it gets some points and advances on the ladder, if it loses it will lose points and will go back few positions. The amount of points gained mostly depends on the opponent team. If a weak (or not very well ranked ) team plays versus a strong (or high ranked) team then it will gain a lot of points, but if a well ranked team plays versus a not very well ranked team it will still receive points...but not that many.
This system mostly advantages European teams because most of the European tournaments are covered by GosuGamers. The Asians teams rarely upload replays of themselves and their tournaments are not always covered(only the most important ones).
Anyway, this rankings do not reflect 100% who is the BEST and do not decide if European teams are better then the Asians ones, but surely separate the strong teams from the weak teams. And by taking a look at these ranking one might get a good impression of what are the top teams that the world has !
