Is eurobattlenet censoring "bad" words?

Internet should be free. Does Freedom of speech ring any bells.
You old folks have your TV to mutilate all you want.

Keep Censorship of the net!

@Server: There is no "bad langauge" censure, but however, in game could be censured with Ghost-bots (if host uses such an option). However Bad Manners (hard flame, curse, nationalistic and racism insults are punishable-mute,kick,ban)

@Forum: Word censure exist for some words. And its also pubishable (infraction, ban...)

You also can check bad manners rules page:

Cheers.

oh no, another guy striking his way into blunt oblivion and bliss ignorance with T3H FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
You, and all the others alike, need to understand one important thing - that all your rights and freedoms are relative. They are relative to the circumstances where you apply them, and they are relative to the people you apply it to.

Or, to make it short - your freedom of speech ends where someone else's rights and freedoms begin.
Does this ring any bells with you?

By the way, who ever started this idea of the internet and the www of being a "free space" should be kicked twice in the head...

Oh really? How about I flame you now? For the freedom of speech, dear sir.
Close this Freedom Fighter's crap.

I mean on server (on a simple chat), not forum. It started recently. I dont support Bad Manners, flaming... thats just stupid, but to ban me and shut me up for 250 sec for simple everyday talk like "Ahh shi.t he just killed me, i must be more careful" its just wrong.
But I see now thats a choice that hosts make and not the whole BNet server. I feel much better knowing that.

I dont wana start with admins and moderators but i must say this.

Theres your typical brain washed, old folks that would like nothing more then to be able to control everyone. Have you think of joining politics? You would fit right in.
MiZiGe could be a great dictator( I dont like that, stop it or ill "kick" you in the head.. BAAM, BAAM..)
Have you guys thinked of moving to china? They have a great internet system there i think you would like.
Im sorry ill stop now :)

Indeed.

Just for you to get it better,in case you didn't already: the censorship you're talking about is a ghost, hosting bot feature, not an Eurobattle.net one.

Tnx for the reply Herr.

Look, even LOGiStiK sad crap in his post. Should we ban him from forum for couple of days now? Its just a simple word thats used normally. Ppl shouldnt be offended by it, and believe me, kids know them all.

Look Herr, maybe you should close this tread. I dont want you to get in trouble with other admins who closed it.

We cant "censor" users the ability to control their own games. It would be another story if not 80% of the players were good mannered people :).

I have the felling he was talking about a whole another story :D

Barakura, i cleaned my pm box you can pm me now. Sorry.

Topic was closed because i though the question has been answered and it was suposed to be on tech support, not because of the subject :)

as i told on my previous post if the subject is another one it should be held in another topic.

Speaking about the people not being offended by it part.. its true people should not but the problem is that there's people who just throw some "bad" words on the air and people who flame another person. We do not punish people who just saw some bad words however we do punish those who flame another guy or any other relative issue such as racism and etc.

For example :

I can say " **** this peace of crap **** **** balls touch penis " in the air and we do no punish such things (however it may looks bad depending on who's using ofc).

But if i say : " **** you peace of **** .... " it is another story,

Edited : I've just noticed there IS a bad word filter in forums.. i think it was enabled when we upgraded and didnt turn it off. I dont see a reason to keep bad word filter since you can easily trick it -_-"

Firstly i will have to note that eurobattle.net is a private property. When signing in you checked a little box with "i agree". That's a way of document where you agreed that you will follow, respect and agree on all the rules here. But lets forget about it for a second, and look on this logical.

About bad words, lets use a bit of common sence. How many kids visit this forum, and what kind of environment we want to have. Would you like to see every second post with swear words and flaming? No, users must have respect to each other, and we tend to have friendly and enjoyable atmosphere and that's the reason we have such filter.

Now about freedom of speech. You have to understand that you cant walk in someone's house and start swearing, because he will trow you out. Freedom of speech does not exist there. You also cant go to a policeman, professor, your father or only other important person and trow some hard words toward him saying you got freedom of speech. Not to talk about serious institutions as faculty, banks, hospitals, law courts, various government institutions etc. You can always express your opinion on a nice and mannered way, and that is what freedom of speech means, but again, under the limits and norms of your environment. e.g. you cant scream on the main streat 24/7 about your believes, because that will brake some general laws about braking public peace and harmony. So you see, even there is a limitation.

What im trying to explain you is that freedom of speech exists only while your individual behavior does not harm general norms of place you're at. Its something that was, and that will be while there is a human race. Im personally happy about it, because people nowdays lost every respect, manners and home education. Its very sad that we actually have to have such a filter, because users should have enough of all listed up, so they would talk nice and polite no matter if there are rules of this kind or not.

It is so easy to misinterpret someone, and if I would try to oppose, I would just ridicule my self more...why is it that you in the first place apply completely different rules to the e-community then to the ever so different "real life situations" (you want to have the "freedom" to shout out everything you want to everyone... sure, try it on the street, go to the nearest person you do not want and flame him, see if it feels right and appropriate), but if I do it afterwards, I am a real dictator? Yes, "kicked in the head" as in "wake up please". Bam bam indeed.

Actually, what is even more ironical - do you see TP_Moonstar, with 7k+ posts, who is even an high administrator, noticing only NOW, that there is such a filter? A mean and brutal censorship? Maybe he did not need to use any such foul language until now?? Why does it seem incorrect to me, that you do need it?

As i sad before, i was talking about chat on server (when playing a game) not forum. It started recently and i thought thats the new Battlenet rule, to censore in-game chat, but now i see its individual ignorant host choice. Again i see now its not Bnet forced rule.
The reason a was so pissed about it is because im getting muted for 5 mins everytime i use simple everyday stuff, like LOGiStiK did in this thread "Close this Freedom Fighter's crap" If he get banned from forum for that for 1 day or so i think he would be pissed off to.
And like i sad i dont support flaming and spoiled brat tantrums, in fact i have a special place on my ban list for them, but censoring every single "bad" word on team chat in game... that just seems wrong to me.
If someone start to flam, you warn him once and if he continues mute him. Dont mute all of us because there is sometimes a spoiled, bad mannered brat in game.

@TBK.Goldy

Your right, im sorry. In my surroundings "old" folks are nothing but bad news for me, my friends and other "younger" generations. Older generation ppl (i called them "fart generation" :) roughly translated from my language), mean to me oppression, illogical rules that are forced on me, forcing to accept everything they say without question... Im sorry, but i am kinda guy that questions everything, im kinda screwed up like that :)
But your right, im sure not all mature :) ppl have that "dictator" way of thinking.
