Still having the same problem with 1.24b on Vista

I posted my problem here yesterday...

Blizzard PrePatch v2.70 compiled on Jul 7 2003
This program patches Warcraft 3

ERROR: unable to create file 'C:\Arquivos de programas\Warcraft III\Patch.txt'
Acesso negado.

RESULT: Prepatch failed

I was told to run Regedit create a "New String Value" and name it like "installPath". I wasnt able to do that because there is allready a "InstallPath" there and when I tried to put this name to my "New String" it said that the "InstallPath allready exist. Do you guys have any ideas for me??

PS: Regedit is the same thing of RegFixer?? I DONT understand about those things very well...

He has right. Right click, run as administrator, and should be fine.

just tried...did the thing with file war.mpq. Than i tried to run the 1.24b blizzard patch and....same old danm thing...what you think?

U will have too go into program files, right click on W3 folder and untick the read only box.

sorry that im dumb...my english kind of sux....you want me to right clik on W3 folder...this folder is the one wcith conteins all of the Warcraft III archives?or right click the icon that launches the game it self?? and what is untick?? sorry again

W3 folder, right click on it, uncheck read only. W3 folder - where game is installed.
