Why should people get banned from custom game? If someone wins you by using cheats, you lose nothing but your dignity unlike in ladder games. Also it's very hard to judge what is and what isn't cheating in custom games; The cheats may as well be a part of the map.

In Custom Games the host makes the rules.If he catches someone with maphack (and it's easy to do so) he can put him in his banlist and next game won't enter his.CG are for fun not for stats like Ladder games.

the other reason is the simple sheer number of CG games played, we would need countless ppl dedicated to watch replays only...imagine how long one dota game takes, and someone might click MH on for 5 seconds somewhere during that. Custom games are for fun only, is someone is stupid enough to use MH in it, then he has no idea what fun is about :(


The situation is how it is, we are working slowly towards a effective solution for hacks, but it is the same with all softwares - just as your hack protection evolves, so do the hacks
(compare to evolution of viruses and antiviral software)
