View Full Version : Problem with GhostOne 1.6.237

5th August 2009, 12:28 PM
I have a problem with my GhostOne. I can create games and join them but nobody else can. I installed Loopback Adapter, made exceptions on my Firewall for ports 6112~6119 for both TCP and UDP protocol. I really don't know what's the problem, i was searching the forums and ran into a thread that had info on a skyhook, I think that thread would fix the problem but the thread has an error so i am asking for a little help. Thx in advance.

well if you can join the game but others cannot, I would say it is something that prevents the access from extern. Which would mean either your Firewall (which ones are you using?) or your router/modem settings (what type do you have?)

Dulleee
5th August 2009, 12:56 PM
I am using Windows Firewall and NOD32. NOD32 is configured, he's not the problem, my windows firewall is turned off but i still made exceptions for port.
My router is Huawei SmartAX MT882. I also encoutered a problem when making excepitons for ports 6112~6119(win firewall), i made em and it wouldn't let me join my games, so i deleted them and my firewall is off so i guess that's not the problem.

MiZiGe
5th August 2009, 01:04 PM
I have the same SWs, and I had to add an exception into WinFW for the ports AND for the application (ghost.exe, war3.exe, and just to be sure, ghostone.exe, frozenthrone.exe and w3l.exe).

The router configuration is shown pretty well here: http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Huawei/SmartAX-MT882/Warcraft_III.htm as you can see, you need to set up a virtual server as well, for WIII hosting to work.

What do you mean by problems with setting the exception for ports? I.e. you set them up, and afterwards you cannot join?

Dulleee
5th August 2009, 01:21 PM
yes. if i set exceptions for ports 6112-6119 TCP and UDP i can't join my games, also war3.exe,euroloader... are all added to the exception list. Also tried that from port forwarding site but my router setting differ from one at the site you gave me. =/
i will try to configurate it.

MiZiGe
5th August 2009, 01:26 PM
you can check the
v2 http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Huawei/SmartAX-MT882v2/Warcraft_III.htm
or
v3 http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Huawei/SmartAX-MT882v3/Warcraft_III.htm

or find any other Huawei routers here:
http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

as for the Firewall of Windows - there is no reason why it would prevent you to host, if you open the ports. Our little guide here (http://eurobattle.net/showpost.php?p=764182&postcount=1)shows how, try it again.

Dulleee
5th August 2009, 01:27 PM
thx, i will try that. brb soon
thx for help dude :D

hmm... port forwarded from my router setting but still nobody can enter my game. i will put back my exceptions and try again.

i made exceptions again for war3, euroloader ... and ports 6112-6119 TCP & UDP protocol but still nobody can't join my game. do you know anything about skyhook mizige? i saw one post if you still couldn't connect you might need to add a skyhook?

MiZiGe
5th August 2009, 01:48 PM
skyhook? Never used it, better said dunno wtf it is...the only Skyhook I know is a WiFi technology used to determine the closest HotPoint with the help of GPS. Nothing to do with hosting...

Anyhow, you can try to host through admin games, if everything fails.

Dulleee
5th August 2009, 01:54 PM
this sucks, i have tried everything, ghost.cfg is ok, port forwarded my router, added exceptions for everything, nod32 is configured, i don't know what else to try. how to host trough admin games ?

MiZiGe
5th August 2009, 01:57 PM
admin games: http://eurobattle.net/showthread.php?t=81842

not saying it has to work, but it helped a few people already :)

(btw., try to restart your PC after you set up exceptions in windows firewall!)

Dulleee
5th August 2009, 02:09 PM
ok, restarting my pc and i will see you in a bit. cross your finger pls and pray to God it work cause I am. :'(

bump! not working :'(

MiZiGe
5th August 2009, 02:11 PM
not working - after the restart, or the admin game?

Dulleee
5th August 2009, 03:22 PM
hmm... i followed the guide for admin game, edited ghost.cfg. bot enters realm and everything is ok, but when i open wc3, go to lan my game doesn't show up, the guide says it should be there automaticlly but i can't see it, i can see another guys admin game. what's the problem? do i need to set something else in .cfg to make it autohost or what?

i also checked my ports on google and tried difirent sites (2 or 3) and they all says my ports are closed even if i configured my router. wtf? anyone knows what should i do?

nvm thx for help :@

MiZiGe
5th August 2009, 03:35 PM
working now?

Dulleee
5th August 2009, 04:20 PM
nope, still not working. for some reason my ports won't open even if i configured my router, put exceptions and everything.
i am giving up, thx anyway for help.
