the old part of the town - at the bank of the Danube and the centre is built by austrian architects.
nickname of city - The Small Viena. between Ruse and Gurgu is a bridge across the Danube.

i was in bucurest @ 24th november. because of the fog i couldnt see all the beautiful buildings in yar capital :[

EDIT: @ xfire - i know about his goal - 2 make romania a super-industrial country and make bucurest a copy of Paris. he destroyed romania's economy - in the late 80's u didnt have even money for food :[ but now the situation is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar better. it seems some time was required 2 make everything work as it had to.
i know about that situation from my dad so u dont have to explain nothing ;)

Well,here it goes.Vlad Tepes(called by Bram Stocker in his novel ''Dracula'') was from the order called ' Dragonul ' (dragon),but people called him ' Vlad Dracul' ,since they were not aware what Dragon means,which frightened them.
He was a tough rooler,swift at anger and ferocious,willing to make justice by any means possible.
Thiefs caught in his time were left without the hand they used to stole with.
Traitors had their head decapitated and sticked on a wooden stick(really pointed one).
Liars got their tongues removed,so they can never talk again.
Anyway,the legend talks about one happening: Vlad wanted to proove that every thief in Transilvania was punished and that noone will ever steal again,so he left a golden cup at a fountain,for people to use.That cup remained there the entire time he was on the throne,but 'magically' disappeared soon after he was not ...

Timisoara the most imba town in the world.It might be small,unkown for others,but our city is the biggest industrial/economical town in Romania after Bucharest(and many know that Bucharest take our money we make from taxes,incomes,etc,without to let us to administrate our goods without theyr survey) and beside that,here (in Timisoara) started the famous revolution in 1989.Without Timisoara,Romania maby today woulded be still under comunist controll.Thats say a lot about our citizens and theyr "way to be".
I am proud to be born in this city and i wouldnt exchange it for nothing.

I've been to my fair share of the European Countries (Great Britain, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Hungary) and I must tell you they all have very different characteristics and, well, 'themes'. The thing is you can find all that in Istanbul. Each part of Istanbul is like a different city and the people are different too (which is kinda expected with +25M people -.-). The only bad thing I can think of is traffic. Sometimes it takes 3 hours to drive to another place inside the city o.O
