I'm asking because I'm playing a few matches a day @ Garena atm ( got bored of SC2 for the time being, done everything there ), and I'm thinking of moving here along with my university buddies, but if the lag is as bad as it used to be, then I'll prolly won't.

Bots are working ok , RO , PD.Eu , Balkan :) Only one which i had problems with it's RO bot on private games , sometimes it get reaaaaally laggy , but it's probably from me :)

Dota 1 has had a great run, but I believe it will be over when Dota 2 goes live in a few months. You don't need to know anything special, it is basically the same game ( same heroes, spells, items, a bit different mechanics and twiches here and there ).

The playerbase has already reached 1 million, and with all the invites coming out, it will easily surpass the 2 million threshold before the release.

Anyway, I figured out it would be playing with friends than not playing at all.

Well Dota2 is way better than dota1...U can dress your hero u can make your keys on whatever you like u can sell your item and after (dunno how much secs.) the money are given back as the item values graphic is better players are better and etc

dota 2 has better graphic and thats all, all spells/heroes are the same but map is a litle bit shorter and on botom lane tower push the first wave of creeps even if u dont block them...nice experts, thats handicap for sentinel team. also blocking creeps is much harder and even if u dont pass any creep in front of you you wont get much...so knowledge about blocking is no needed in dota 2, last hit is much easier and there is no changing aggro with creeps and thats making ls easier, turning with kunkka to the right place and hit someone with splash is much much easier, there is no pro dota moves like back arrow, back hook with pudge (with force staff), pro escape with manta or with naga, there is no need to know how to use manta on DK to get 3 dragons, and much much more things...i want to say d2 require much less of skills and thats why i am disapointed with d2 which one i waited long time...a lot ppl who plays d2 still thinks d1 is way better game but d2 is something new, its big + about disconecting, easy to install etc etc and there is a lot of money..so if u still want to play dota only for fun i recomend you dota 1

There are a lot of aspects to be discussed here, of which some are true and some aren't; I believe you are talking from a brief experience in Dota 2, because the more you play, the easier you can notice that there is more than meets the eye.
