Could not find location to patch

Whenever I try to run either the eurobattle.net client or w3l.exe I get the error "Could not find location to patch". I am running an Ubuntu 17.04 computer but I don't think that is the problem as I have been able to run it before. I am also posting this on the ubuntu forums in case this is an ubuntu problem. Please help and tell me if you need the terminal output for solving this issue.

Can you provide a screenshot?

After installing installer v9 you should get an update after starting client which downloads a fixed w3l.exe that works on Wine. In registry you should have eurobattle client version 24.


I can also send you a verified exe that works for me on Wine, just in case your update failed somehow.

My client did do the download thing so my Warcraft version is now 1.28.5. When I go into the "About" tab in the client it says it is client version 1.0 (September 2017) while in registry it says patch number 24. Here is the screen shot of the image though there isn't much to it.

these work for me on fedora 26 wine 2.16

OH thankyou, it works perfectly. I finally play online again. It is wine 2.17.
