Server installer 2014 [Client v0.3, GProxy v8]

A new installer has been released. It is or will be required on all officially supported DotA leagues on the server so if you are getting kicked from the game lobby, you should probably upgrade.

What is new?

Installer
-native support for mpq manipulation
-fixes registry entries automatically
-overall cleaner installation process

Client v0.3
-starts w3 or w3+gproxy automatically
-automatically sets the correct gateways when starting W3
-automatic updates for client/gproxy/DotA maps/whatever needed


GProxy v8
-improved hack detection
-improved permanent bans for continuous hackers
-improved overall security against tampering from hackers
-sends null packet to bnet every few minutes so you have less chance to be disconnected from bnet after the game (unless you had to reconnect mid game)

WHERE TO REPORT BUGS?
Report all bugs in this topic or open a separate topic in Technical Support if you want individual help (I'll also be available via TeamViewer for remote help). As always there is a possibility that there will be a shitton of bugs in the first few days so please don't panic. We'll resolve everything.

Some tips to help you debug what your problem is:
1. GProxy
Some GProxy messages might be omitted from the Client console. You can manually start gproxy by going to C:/Program Files (x86)/Eurobattle.net and edit gproxy.cfg by setting "console" to 1. Then you can manually start gproxy.exe as with the old installer. Output is also saved to gproxy.log.
When you login to bnet with gproxy and type !v in the channel the version should be 8 XPAM Edition. If you are still getting kicked from game lobby it is possible that:
-you don't have the dota map
-you are banned on that league
-the league is still on the old gproxy and needs to be updated (which shall be done in max few days all over the server. LagAbuse.com should be ready from start)

I suggest starting W3+GProxy in window mode for the first time so you can see if your firewall is blocking gproxy since it's a new application. If you see "Connecting to Battle.net" for a long time and nothing is happening it means your firewall or something else is blocking the connection.

2. Installer
If installers fails when trying to move a file or write something to Program Files it usually means that either:
-your antivirus is blocking
-you must run as admin

3. Client
-you must run as admin

Problems so far:
MISSING msvc100.dll: Download and install Visual c++ redistributable http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Client fails to start W3:
1. Check that Start->Regedit->HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Blizzard Entertainment->Warcraft III->INSTALLPATH (no ending slash)
2. Check that Start->Regedit->HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Eurobattle.net->w3dir is correct (no ending slash)
3. Check that w3l.exe and w3lh.dll is in your w3 directory
4. Try to run as admin

Installer error at step 3: Backing up MPQ: Could not copy the file: Destination file exists: investigating. Try manual install (http://eurobattle.net/threads/196502-Installer-2014-manual-installation?p=1611078#post1611078) until we find the solution.

Lagabuse bots randomly kick you from lobby: investigating. Make sure your DotA map is 6.80c

Massive spam of Unable to open gproxy.log : run client as admin

W3 does not start. GProxy waits 20 seconds and exits. Run client as admin. If you did a manual install it might mean that registry entry for w3dir is incorrect or w3l.exe is missing from w3 directory. Make sure you re-read the manual instructions.

Ok, got the install right, but can't log on to EuroBnet.
Found this Xpam.exe (had to go trial/error mode, nothing mentions that that is the file to run), hit Launcher/Gproxy Gateway --> it goes:

Now it doesn't matter if I manually start W3. I have 3 files to do that: w3l.exe, euroloader.exe, Frozen Throne.exe, but none does the trick: can't log on to battle.net.
What now?

i followed your advice and i installed gproxy, but i have no shortcut on desktop, and when i enter the old gproxy from desktop, still same version

1. Start->run->regedit->HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software->Eurobattle.net->w3dir must be your w3path without ending /
2. Check that you have w3l.exe in your w3 folder

If that is allright you can enter the old way (until I find solution):
1. Open gproxy.cfg and set console=1
2. Run gproxy
3. Run w3

What did the trick was running Eurobattle.net Client as admin. 0_o Now it is able to start W3.

i just found out the way to install the new gproxy :
10x to ^SandokaN^

1) download the new gproxy
2) run it as administrator
3) a new shortcut named "Eurobattle.net Client" will appear on desktop
4) run it also as administrator
5)just click on the image from right
(6) it will autostart your game, click b.net as usual,and then play, have fun

so in order to play you must have older map.

Hello guys!

I got the following issue:

Working directory: The operation completed successfully.
Could not start GProxy: Process failed to start: The directory name is invalid.

This happened on my office PC. I installed on Admin account, but i chosed the installation path the same with the game...Is that wrong? I should've been install it on C/ program files? In Regedit, when i go to "Software", Eurobattle.net doesn't appear... After installation,I switched on Guest account, i got the desktop shortcut, but the mentioned error keep appearing...

What should i do? Reinstall in C/Program files? Run the app with 'Run as admin", Both of these? Please help!

You should not install in the same folder as w3. And yes, you can try to run client s admin.

Thanks for reply Cen. I tried, but it still doesn't work... When i was on Admin account, in Regedit, i could see in "Software", the submenu "Eurobattle.net"...But when i switched user to "Guest", it doesn't appear anymore, and the error is still there. When i'm at the office, i can't play on Admin...but only on Guest account. Maybe it has to do with my issue... Till now, with old g-proxy I played very well on Guest acc...

You could try to manually start gproxy and w3 as in old system. Just set gproxy.cfg->console to 1 so it's visible.

Btw, can you change registry while in guest mode? YOu could manually make eurobattle.net entry and add the values.

You could try to manually start gproxy and w3 as in old system. Just set gproxy.cfg->console to 1 so it's visible.

Btw, can you change registry while in guest mode? YOu could manually make eurobattle.net entry and add the values.

I am looking into that but I have to make a guest account on my PC to test it out. You have to embed a special manifest into the executable and it's kinda iffy. I'll update the installer if I manage to do it.

@x64: This is x86 build and it should work normally on any system. There is no x64 build because it's not needed.

This is not doable via (any) application. At best the installer could warn you, or request elevated rights via UAC.

PS: just did a clean install of war3+gproxy...connection to blizzard bnet and eurobattle.net (no gproxy) was fine, but I kept getting kicked from gproxy eb.net. Problem was that the blizzard installer creates the installpath entry with a backslash at the end :)

btw,if you don't want to right-click Run As Admin everytime, right click the Eurobattle.net Client icon, Properties > Compability > check Run This Program as an administrator, click OK.

Installer is crashing on my non-admin guest account so I'll be hunting down the bugs in the following days. Unfortunately non-admin mode was not tested enough I guess.. too bad not many people joined the BETA.

In folder of EB loader there is file named as gproxy.log in format text document/notepad.

To find it right click on Eurobattle.net loader > Properties > Open file location.

No. If you remember you had to personally start gproxy and then w3 manually. Now it's done by client. Apparently there is a difference if you manually start an application or if your application starts something else.

If you are using windows 7 ,in start type REGEDIT and enter , then go HK_CURRENT_USER-software-Blizzard Entertainment-Warcraft III then edit InstallPath ,right click on it Modify and put direction/location of w3 folder

I know PC isn't the best (5 years old without any upgrades)
But before gproxy was taking 0-1% of proccessor.
With warcraft 3, skype, firefox and winamp running proccessor is ~20% taken, and now with this xpam it sometimes spikes up to 90%
When it spikes up massive fps lags/frozen screen happen.

Not possible at the moment. We will add a dedicated chat client in the future so that will solve the problem.

Installed everything, went through this topic, tried all the fixes but I still can't join. When I run the game through the client (Normal or GProxy gateway), the game runs, and when I click on battle.net it just keeps on loading (stuck on "initating connection to battle.net") and nothing happens.

Please FIX that and make 1 GOOD installer for ALL OS systems and so your gateways registry DONT DELETE other Private gateways added by programs like: BNGatewayEditor.exe or so on.

I hope you will fix that soon and tell us what to do so we can play and DONT get AUTOKICKED from BOT inside game.

1st: If you download version 2 of the installer you don't have to run as admin so that's solved

2. It sets original gateways+two eurobattle.net gateways. If you have another server in there it will be removed unfortunately. I might fix this in the future but it's not a priority. Just add that gateway again and it should be ok.

3. Remove Msvcr80.dll from w3 folder and it should work.

i install and reinstall 4 versions of warcraft :| and my warcraft don't start.... and with direct x again more than 5 versions , i try some 3 hours to fix it but i can't :|

Test Uninstall gpu driver and after that install it and download directx..

Weird.. opengl should not trigger anything with directx.

So far I think it is either:

1. Missing Visual C++ Redistributable 2015 x86
2. Non-updated version of Windows 7 or XP (missing SP1 or SP3).

But I can't confirm either of these solutions yet. Hopefully someone with this problem will fix it and report back what he did.

I googled for this error and every single solution says to update your windows.
