Eurobattle.net 2012 plans

Hello everyone. We would like to reveal our plans for 2012 and also hear your suggestions what would you like us to do around the server.

Web and server systems
1. Create a single player profile that will combine dota stats from all official leagues. For each league you play in you will see stats on a single page. You will be able to login into this profile with your server account and password . Live signatures will be turned into a tool that you can use after you login. We will add achievement system-you will earn new achievements on your profile by doing varius tasks (win 5 games in a row, have X/Y KD ratio and stuff like this). Each achievement will also give you a specific icon on server.

2. New gproxy AMH implementation which we are testing right now. Our first protection was broken in a few months but this time we really went deep into this problem.

3. Client-launcher with integrated gproxy. Client will also take care of updates, it will have in-built chat client like osiris/topaz, and other stuff.

This is clearly a lot of work altho some of these is already near finished. Especially the lack of coding support is the reason why all the new stuff takes so long to be released.



And now to the part where we need your help.

We would like to turn eurobattle.net into something more than just W3 pvpgn server. We have several servers running which we only use for hostbots so why not use them for something else too.
We are thinking to open servers for different games than W3. Things like Cod4, TF2, Minecraft, CS etc..
What we don't know is which games are being played by our player base. There must be enough interest from your side to start hosting another game because it's a waste of time to host something which nobody will use.

Indeed we should close all "private" leagues and create 2 new leagues.
1. Odl => dota
2. x.x.x => cg

About other games, I think WoW and Diablo 2 would be a nice start.

It's not hard to add custom maps on bots. Maybe it will take some time but it can be done.

Did you take hardware bans into consideartion? Since it seems you want to overhaul loader a bit anyway... That would probably give you better protection against MH. Though I know that would be a lot of work to do.

1st of all : Why server can't host PG games? ( Solo and RT )
I think that closing all private leagues would be stupid step , you all know how some guys treat Turks , Br's , Balkan's ... Ro'S
Best thing for me would be that Server can host.

Idea's seem very nice cen, it's nice to see you are going with the time and keep improving. I myself will instantly download cod (preferably mw2) to play it with people from here. I play every cod on my ps3, but still I would certainly give it a try.

This server is pretty good, personally I don't think that there will be any lag especially for a CS server.

Conquer Online as some noob said here and Diablo II (our client actually supports this too).

Soldat server can be set up for some test. I don't think many people play it but it's like 10mb and if you try I'm sure many will enjoy it.. Casual shooter for boring times. Extra fun to pwn xpam members :D

CS is a classic game that will never grow old.
I'd say go for this above all other games. It's easier, plus less demanding, and I'm sure CS would win the voting poll.

CS:GO and CoD4 the best choices. CS 1.6 will die soon from the competetive play so better think taking some CS:GO keys and do some Giveaways like many other sites did to create a new Eurobattle.net corner about CS:GO.

You wanna new game suggestion for xpam? Only logical answer is Dota 2. :)

Steam is kinda shitty, hate that platform, slow and unresponsive with constant useless updates. If you become the first alternative to steam dota 2 it would be big deal. Only problem is technical side here, which I leave to you =). Might be problem to make dota 2 off steam as I guess noone did it yet so there are no finished solutions to just install server side part in few clicks, so it will need some... special engineering. To those saying this is impossible, I will jsut tell that dota 2 is confirmed to have LAN capability and that only means that will appear on Garena (or some similar platform) one day. Why not think ahead of all and do something first. See if you are ambitious enough for a challange, hehh. ;)
