I played Total War: Napoleon and it was nice but noone compares with Shogun II :)

Rome: Total War was the best TW game in the series and long awaited by the fans. If you never played it I strongly recommend. Not the best graphics after so many years but still an awesome turn based strategy game.
The second one is going to be a blast I am positive.

Honestly I would try it but I can't since all my free time is used in W3 and League of Legends :(
